soooo laggy!!!! ALL I WANT TO DO IS DELETE 4000 PRIMS!!!!

hahaha!! so trying to remove the lag by deleting 4000 ish scripted prims! sounds like fun desnt it!! well... its not... the first selection goes fast to remove but after that there is a huge delay in the system and it doesn't delete them for several minutes.... well it doesnt register their absence for several minutes that is!!

as you can see its currently only registered 6 prims even though there are probly several thousand selected

so NZVWG is fluuuuuuuuuuuurrggeed up man!!! i can barely log on let alone view and edit my epic scripts!
i think i  have discovered the problem..... 4000 prims... might be the problem... so i am now slowly deleting my 'stars' as they are probly 90% of the lag!! here are some screenies!

so much scripting its laggy!
but now, instead of having to individually click each of my journal boards 1, they have alpha channels on them! and 2, if you type "look at this judy" they all appear! then type "you've seen enough!" and they dissappear!!
i also added some scripting to some greg lynn images i found! so if you type "if only greg lynn was here" then he appears everywhere!! and if you've had enough of him you then type "bye greg" and he leaves!!!!! here are some screenies! oh and i added some moving stars too!!!

uh oh!! nzvwg is crashing at the moments!! thats unfortunate! but i thought i would be productive by uploading some images i did of my treehouse and of some other stuff i did in the labs that i screenshotted like alpha channels!! FUN! so hope you enjoy these pics!

 so as you can see i've been doing some scripting to make the library a tad more interactive!!!

vas and campbell did a super job finishing off the exterior!!! and this abstract shape does have meaning dont worry, its late now so i wont go into too much detail but basically just think, heart, squid, internet. more on that tomorrow!!

just logged off NZVWG, campbell managed to get his going so now vas a campbell are trying to finish the main structure, thy could be up a while but im getting sick so i need an early night! hopefully ill be pleasantly surprised in the morning!!

so had to stop building because i have a crazy sore headache!!! ohwell, i've left th building in the very capable hands of vas! i'm sure he will do great things!!

just took some photos of what has been made so far, however upon recently discovering that videos will not be an option we have decided to change our plan a lot! Vas is now going to make a geometric representation of "the lost thing" and then inside this we are going to put up screen that tell us about the journals.

 this entrance way has photos of me campbell and vas! where our photos are is where we would have had a video if our programming skills had been adequate, OHWELL!

in these two photos, my avatar is inside the building and what i've done is made the internal face transparent but the external face red so! from the inside it looks like there are no walls giving a sense of freedom and serenity however from the outside it still appears to be very solid.

NZVWG is an unfair disadvantage!

so yesterday me campbell and vas had a group discussion for a few hours to decide what we wanted to build for our library, we decided to discuss because NZVWG wasn't working on either vas or campbells computers... so anyway, we decided to have an entrance way with 3 videos to introduce and welcome people to our library, we were going to do this by putting the videos on youtube then putting the yourtube link as a texture on a wall and then framing the video, HOWEVER!!! it appears that you cannot use web pages as textures on the NZVWG because of the differing UI of the hippo and pheonix viewer, yes we tried both, so currently our plan of having a video explaining each journal with a pop up journal beneath is not going to work because of the inadequacy of the New Zealand Virtual World Grid. great, just fantastic. it is so unfair that our group has to use the NZVWG instead of an actual SL place because we are now extremely disadvantaged. today im going to try accessing the NZVWG grid on the SL viewer 2... wish me luck.

Getting Productive!

Last night i downloaded the NZVWG and claimed a spot by making a massive!!!! box... yea! and today me campbell and vas all went up to the 11th floor library to get it going and start building, ill write some more when we make some more progress!!
